illustrator 10
This is, you guessed it, a self-portrait I created in Illustrator 10 using a gradient as a background and building up with layers of transparency. Considering that it is one of the first few images I created using that program, it didn't turn out too bad. In case you were wondering why I omitted the eyes and upper part of the face, it was not entirely deliberate...The only mirror I had on me at the time was approximately 1.25" by .75" and the only comfortable position I was able to hold it at while constantly looking from the moniter to the mirror in order to render only reflected that much of my face. Others have suggested that my decision not to represent my eyes is a symbolic reflection of a lack of self- esteem....which may be true as well...but if it is it happened on a purely unconscious level :-)
