This is the second revision of the first project in my Illustration class, which was to depict a "happy octopus." The parameters of the project were kept rather vague; there was no size or media requirement, and the subject matter was largely up for interpretation. So this is what I came up with....
    Strangely, I was one of the very few people to illustrate my octopus with the bulbous, balloon-like shape as the nose rather than as the head itself. The photographs I referenced showed that the octopus held its "trunk" (as the encyclopedia described it) lowered and to the front with regards to its direction of movement, which is very similar to how I illustrated it.
