myths & tales:

I completed this poster for my Advanced Graphic Design class early in the Spring 2005 semester. The assignment was to design a poster for the 12th annual Students, All to Chaumont!/Etudiants, tous a Chaumont! poster competition, which is associated with the French solidarity association The Secours Populaire Francais. The theme of the poster contest was "Everything Human is our Concern." A number of graphic design courses that semester were given the assignment, however, the faculty only chose to send a select few designs to participate in the competition. Remarkably, my poster was one of those few. I chose to focus my poster on the idea of preserving and protecting world cultures. In this case, that concept is illustrated by the branding of various multinational company logos on a traditional Japanese kimono (there are a total of five of those logos represented in the patterns). It was originally illustrated at 30 by 40cm, but its ultimate print size was 60 by 80cm.
